Paper Crown, Hit or Miss?

Lauren Conrad has just released her look book for her new contemporary clothing line called Paper Crown. (Yes I know she’s a reality star, BUT I happen to really admire her personal style)… I like some of the pieces in this collection such as the blazers and the shorts, but everything is so plain and simple. It would be nice to see some more patterns or colors or maybe just better styling (as in adding accessories). Needless to say, I’m not thrilled with it. What do you think…hit or miss?

Color Me Beautiful

Pantone has recently released their Fall 2011 Fashion Color Report which showcases a selection of designers and what colors they’ll be using for their fall collections.

I must say, I’m very delighted by the color palette. The colors seem to be brighter than last year and designers appear to be paying attention to texture, color, and contrast. There’s a very nice balance of bright, cool, and neutral tones being used. As much as I’m ready for warm weather to arrive this cheery color palette will keep me excited for fall.

Crystalized

These are a few sketches showcasing a preview of Prabal Gurung’s latest collection, which will be shown at Lincoln Center for Fashion Week Fall 2011 on Saturday of this week.

This new collection is a collaboration between the designer and Swarovski and there will be many crystal-embellished dresses and tops. Looks romantic, I can’t wait to see the actual pieces!
